| An Act to constitute a National Commission for Women and to provide for matters connected therewith or incidental thereto. Be it enacted by Parliament in the Forty-First Year of the Republic of India as follows:- |

An Act to provide for the welfare of labour, and to regulate the conditions of work, in plantations. |

This Act may be called the Plantations Labour Act, 1951. |
|

| 2 |
It extends to the whole of India except the State of Jammu and Kashmir. |
|
|
| 3 |
It shall come into force on such date1* as the Central Government may, by notification in the Official Gazette, appoint. |
